NATO
NATO or The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is an intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty which was signed on 4 April 1949. For the first couple of years NATO wasn't much more than a political association. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the organization became drawn into the breakup of Yugoslavia, and conducted their first military interventions in Bosnia from 1992 to 1995 and later Yugoslavia in 1999.
After NATO was made, the Soviets came up with the Warsaw Pact. This was a way to stay even with the United States. NATO is an Alliance that consists of 28 independent member countries. In the General Assembly all member countries have one vote. In order to carry out an important matter there has to be a 2/3 majority vote. For any other matters it is majority rule.
On the Security Console there are 15 Nations that are a part of it. Five of those nations are permeant and the other ten cycle through every two year with votes. On the International Court of Justice there are 15 judges and one countries can not have more than two judges. They settle legal disputes and then these are in forced by the Security console.
