The meeting was to discuss the re-establishment of the nations of war-torn Europe. Within a few yearsYalta became a subject of intense controversy. Most of the conference remained controversial.
Some things decided at the Conference were: "
- Agreement to the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany.
- Germany. After the war, Germany and Berlin would be split into four occupied zones.
- Stalin agreed that France might have a fourth occupation zone in Germany and in Austria but it would have to be formed out of the American and British zones.
- Germany would undergo demilitarization and denazification.
At the conference there was a lot of tension with the Soviet Union and some people think that because of the tension it started a enemy type thing between the United States and the Soviet Union.
