The Marshall Plan
This was an American program to aid Europe where the United States gave money and support to help rebuild Europe after the end of World War II. By doing this it would also prevent the spread of Soviet Communism. 13 billion dollars in economic and technical assistance was given to help the recovery of the European countries.
Czechoslovakia and Poland wanted the Support from the Marshall Plan but the Soviet Union wouldn't allow it. The soviets then set up The Council for Mutual Economic Assistance. They tried to rebuild Europe on there own because they thought they didn't need any help. They couldn't provide enough money to rebuild Europe and people living there struggled.
